▼ Data Communication Volume

2GB of data communication is provided for free.

After exceeding 2GB, the communication speed in the overseas roaming area will be limited to a maximum of 128kbps.If you want to add more data capacity, you can charge data from my Rakuten Mobile for 500 yen / 1GB.

How to Use Overseas Roaming

▼ What to Do After Arrival at the Destination

To use Rakuten Mobile’s “Overseas Roaming (Data Communication)”, you need to set “Data Roaming” to ON on the smartphone you are using.

1. The operation differs between Android and iOS, so please turn on “Data Roaming” according to the following steps.

【Android】

• Tap “Settings”
• Tap “Network & Internet”
• Tap “Mobile Network”
• Turn on “Roaming” and tap “OK”

【iOS】

• Tap “Settings”
• Tap “Mobile Data”
• Tap “Mobile Data Options”
• Turn on “Data Roaming”

※ As an aside, the author uses an iPhone SE (2nd generation), but after “Settings” → “Mobile Data”, the “Data Roaming” option was not found, which was troublesome.

After researching, I solved it with the following method, so if your smartphone screen display is different, please search for it.

Open “Settings” → “Mobile Data”, and there is a section called sim. Tap the SIM you are currently using.

Then, it is possible to set the mobile data for that SIM, and you can change “Data Roaming” to ON within that setting.
