2. How to Check or Change Your Payment Method (Via Rakuten Link App)

You can easily check or change your payment method anytime, 24 hours a day, from within the Rakuten Link app you use every day.

Basic Steps to Change or Check Your Payment Method

  1. Open the Rakuten Link app.
  2. Tap the “”my Rakuten Mobile”” icon (or My Page) within the app.
  3. From the menu (or home screen), select “”Payment Method”” (or “”Contract Plan”” > “”Payment Information””).
  4. Your currently registered payment method will be displayed. To change it, tap “”Change Payment Method.””
  5. Enter your new credit card details, debit card details, or bank account information, and complete the registration.

3. How to Set Up Rakuten Points Payment

Rakuten Mobile allows you to enable automatic application of your accumulated Rakuten Points toward your monthly phone bill.

Steps to Configure Points Settings

  1. Access “”my Rakuten Mobile”” from within Rakuten Link.
  2. On the “”Payment Information”” screen, tap “”Change”” next to “”Rakuten Points Usage Settings.””
  3. Select your preferred usage option:
    • Use all: Apply all available points up to the full amount
    • Use partially: Specify the number of points to use each month (e.g., 1,000 points)
    • Do not use
  4. Save your settings and you’re done.

⚠️ Important Notes

  • Limited-time points can also be used (points closer to expiration are consumed first).
  • Even if you set up Points payment, you must still register a “”credit card”” or “”bank transfer”” as your base payment method. Any shortfall not covered by points will be charged to your registered payment method.

4. Things to Know When Changing Your Payment Method

① Bank transfer incurs a ¥110/month fee (tax included)

If you choose bank transfer, a bank transfer fee of ¥110 (tax included) will be charged for each monthly billing cycle. If you want to avoid this fee, paying by credit card or debit card is recommended.

② Billing and Confirmation Date Schedule

  • Credit Card / Debit Card: Billing is confirmed on the 11th of each month, and payment is deducted on your card company’s designated payment date.
  • Bank Transfer: Payment is automatically deducted from your designated account on the 27th of each month (or the next business day if it falls on a weekend or holiday). Make sure you have sufficient funds in your account by the day before.

③ Notes on Account Holder Name

The credit card or bank account registered as your payment method must, in principle, be in the name of the contract holder (excluding family cards and similar exceptions).

Summary: Change Your Payment Method Instantly from the App!

Your Rakuten Mobile payment method can be easily checked and changed from “”my Rakuten Mobile”” within the Rakuten Link app you use every day.
